LETTERS: Questions for council

Would the mayor and council vote for a referendum if the public raised the money and paid for the initiative in advance?

Mr. Mayor, by colour and symbol, the newly erected bike trail sign adjacent to the Peach clearly indicates that Skaha Lake Park, the SS Sicamous Rock Groyne, and Three Mile Beach are all part of Penticton City Parks.

So why then is Three Mile considered federal and beyond the city’s jurisdiction? Skaha and the Groyne are within the city’s jurisdiction and slated for development.

Perhaps this question and a follow up question are best asked by the press so the answers can be published. The second question is: would the mayor and council vote for a referendum if the public raised the money and paid for the initiative in advance?
