LETTERS: Transparency and fairness

What ever happened to all those promises at election time? Smoke and mirrors?

Residential taxes increased, electricity and water rates increased, added service fees to receive your bills in the mail, a new taxpayer funded dental plan for councillors, taxpayer funded city hall parties and the loss of irreplaceable parkland.

What ever happened to all those promises at election time? Smoke and mirrors?

No, this is transparency and fairness in action they say; referendum, we don’t need no stinking referendum. The silent majority is behind us they say; we heard it at the market they say. Well, it is certainly very transparent to me just how fairly things are going to be handled at city hall for the next three long, long years.
