I should like to bring to your attention that the article in the Aug. 24 Western News on the mishap at the Penticton Airport was incorrect: the plane was not a Cessna.

I should like to bring to your attention that the article in the Aug. 24 Western News on the mishap at the Penticton Airport was incorrect: the plane was not a Cessna.

The registration of C-GESD is that of a tail-dragger Piper with Aeronca wings (which the reporter could have easily checked out).

Thus, many readers have assumed that this was my Cessna. My aircraft has been hangared since its epic flight to the U.S. Air Race — awaiting reservicing, and has not been involved in any such incident.
