Penticton might have a three-way race for this year’s election, as the BC Libertarian Party acclaimed Keith MacIntyre as a candidate.

MacIntyre is currently gathering the required 75 signatures to file as a candidate with Elections BC.

“While many had not heard of the party, after learning how the party advocates for smaller and more accountable government, lower taxes, and more freedom, they immediately gave me their support. Decisions being made in Victoria aren’t always right for the Okanagan,” stated MacIntyre in a press release.

MacIntyre is the president of the Okanagan School of the Arts and owner of Big Bear Software in Penticton.

As the Libertarian candidate, MacIntyre wants to offer an alternative to the larger parties.

If MacIntyre meets the Elections BC requirements, he will be competing against incumbent BC Liberal Dan Ashton and BC NDP’s Toni Boot in the riding.
