When the 2013-14 freestyle ski season begins, Apex Freestyle Club will be well represented by its alumni.

Kyle Parker is joining returning AFC alum on the B.C. mogul team, which includes Mason Barzilay, Noah Spence, Connor Spence and Jordan Cario.

AFC coach Kenni Kuroda said they will miss Parker but are happy for him.

"He really did well last year. He really proved himself," said Kuroda. "It will be a bonus for the B.C. team to have him."

Kuroda said that Parker's overall skiing improved and praised his speed.

"He was taking some huge air in the moguls, which put him in the top of his categories," said Kuroda. "He's skiing very well. He's very deserving of getting on that team."

In the Timber Tour series awards, Parker earned second overall in male moguls. During the junior nationals he finished 11th.

Riley Culver is returning to the B.C. Pipe and Park team, while Josh and Jordan Kober will compete on the Canadian Sport Institute mogul team. Making the Canadian Freestyle Skiing national team are Matt Margetts for half pipe and Andi Naude in moguls.

Kuroda said they are pleased to be able to produce high calibre skiers. The AFC coach added that with their young program they will be dominant in moving kids up in the future.

"We have a really good program going," said Kuroda. "I can see this going for a few years."
