Tristyn Cutler is a Grade 7 student at SLMS, who joined the Penticton Judo Club last February. She attempted her first competition only months later earning her a silver medal.
Cutler caught on to the martial art quite quickly, which earned her a yellow belt by the end of her first season. Last weekend at the B.C. Open Judo Competition, Cutler won silver, beating out competitors a belt and a half higher than herself. She seems to be a natural at the sport and is working hard at earning her orange belt this season. Cutler wants to progress in Judo to green, blue, brown, and possibly black belt level and earn herself a spot on the Olympic team one day.
