A two-set sweep netted the KVR Express Grade 8 girls volleyball team a championship.

Eleven teams battled through 33 matches with the ultimate goal of claiming the South Okanagan Similkameen Athletic Association Volleyball Championship at Pen High Nov. 3.

The Express faced the Skaha Lake Middle School Sharks, McNicoll, Keremeos  and then Summerland No. 1 in the final. The Express went on to win all six of their matches, with an overall combined record of 14 set wins while losing only two.

The Express were ecstatic following their win said parent Kyle Sunderman, considering how much they improved from the start of the season. The Express pulled off winning the championship without their best player Lyndzie Caron, who was considered one of their top players.
