GAPING GOAL — Austin Donaldson misfired on this chance to get his fifth goal of the season with Penticton Lakers goalie Niall McGregor doing his best to get over during Kootenay International Junior Hockey League action Wednesday in the South Okanagan Events Centre. The Grizzlies built a 4-1 lead midway through the second period and won 5-4 win. The Lakers scored three in the third and stepped up their game after McGregor was pulled in favour of Stephen Yesavage.

Overcoming a three-goal deficit for the Penticton Lakers proved too much against the Revelstoke Grizzlies on Wednesday during a 5-4 loss.

Lakers forward Kale Erickson opened the scoring in the first period, but the Grizzlies responded two minutes later during their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League game. That goal was the first of four-unanswered for the visitors in the South Okanagan Events Centre. In the third period the Lakers clawed back to within 4-3, but Dallas Flockhart sealed the Lakers fate making it 5-3. Daylan Robertson scored the Lakers' fourth goal.

Niall McGregor stopped 15 of the 19 shots he faced, while Stephen Yesavage was tagged with the loss on the lone goal he allowed on nine shots.

The Lakers next game is Sunday at the SOEC at 2 p.m. against the Kimberley Dynamiters.
