The Penticton Speedway Hornets buzzed their way through the competition to win the Spring Bantam AA hockey tournament in Kamloops last weekend.

The Hornets went 5-0 starting with a 7-0 win over the Okanagan All Stars and claiming the championship with a 4-0 victory over the Kamloops Ice Pirates. Tucker Inabinet earned the shutout.

Hornets coach Johnny Aantjes said the tournament, which featured the B.C. Northern Selects, who they played twice, the Lower Mainland Monarchs, the All Stars, Kootenay Wolf Pack and Ice Pirates, was competitive. Aantjes said the Wolf Pack and Ice Pirates had strong teams.

"The boys played good, physical hockey. They skated hard and we got good goaltending," said Aantjes.
