Host Broncos down Vees in double overtime during RBC Cup

Wade Murphy scored twice for the Penticton Vees who lost to the Humboldt Broncos 3-2 in overtime. Murphy tied the game for the Vees at 2-2, but Andrew Johnston scored the winner at 4:57 with Kyle Beaulieu in the box for a five-minute major and game misconduct. Matt Glowa scored seven seconds into the game to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Murphy equaled the score with 51 seconds remaining in the period. The Broncos outshot the Vees 43-31 including 22 shots in the second period as the Vees were forced to kill eight minutes in penalties that period. Murphy received Player of the Game honours for the Vees. The Vees are now winless in two games. Their next game is Tuesday against the Woodstock Slammers.
