Penticton Vees graduating forward Tyson Jost was named the Top Forward at the World Under-18 Hockey Championship, in Grand Forks, N.D.

The former Vees captain led the tournament in scoring with 15 points in seven games, which is a new Canadian record at the event, previously held by Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid. Jost was also named to the tournament All-Star team voted by accredited media members.

His 15 points was seven better than any of his teammates. Jost recorded five-point games against Denmark and Switzerland and was named the Player of the Game on two occasions.

Penticton teammate Dante Fabbro had a great showing as well, finishing with eight points, all assists, third amongst defencemen at the tournament behind teammate David Quenneville and American Adam Fox. Fabbro also received a Player of the Game award during the preliminary round.

Next up for Jost and Fabbro is the 2016 NHL Draft Combine in Buffalo, N.Y., which is slated for June. The annual event is overseen by NHL Central Scouting and brings approximately 100 top prospects for the NHL draft into one place for interviews with NHL teams, and medical and physical testing.
