Kelowna runner takes Penticton Pounders event

Kelowna's John Machuga clinched the Campbell Mountain 8.4-kiloemtre cross country run in 34 minutes, 39 seconds.

Kelowna's John Machuga clinched the Campbell Mountain 8.4-kiloemtre cross country run in 34 minutes, 39 seconds.

Held on Oct. 14, the event held by the Penticton Pounders featured 56 runners. Deborah Buhlters also of Kelowna was the overall women's winner finishing in 38:53.   Top local finishers were Scott Tremblay of Kaleden placing third in 35:45 and Kristina Persson, 24th in 48:33.  Full results available at www.interiorrunningassociation.com . This was the third race in the Interior XC series with the next one being the Larry Nicholas 9K XC in Kelowna this Sunday.  The series ends with the Summerland 7.4K XC on Nov. 4.
