Lakers steal game from Knights

Matthew Billinglsey potted the game-winner for the Penticton Lakers Wednesday night against the North Okanagan Knights in a 2-1 game.

After two scoreless periods in which the Lakers were outshot 22-7, Reilly O'Connor hit the scoresheet first in the game giving the Lakers a 1-0 lead against the Doug Birks Divison leaders. Billingsley's winner came 32 seconds later. The Knights cut the lead to 2-1 on the power play with under five minutes remaining.

Lakers goalie Stephen Yesavage made several big saves to lead his team to victory and was named the game's first star. The Lakers are now 6-13-0 on the season and sit last in the Okanagan Division. Their next games are at home Nov. 10 and 11 when they host the Fernie Ghostriders and Sicamous Eagles.
