Apex Mountain Resort hosted 69 of the best moguls skiers from North America, Japan, Korea, Australia and Bermuda.
The local Apex Freestyle Club was represented by alumni Jordan Kober, who competes with the national development squad, Brayden Kuroda, Madison Parker, Kassidy Todd, Shaina Finlayson, Chloe Kober and Hayden Person with Team B.C. and Mackenzie Schwinghamer of Team Alberta. While most of the field featured athletes a level below the World Cup, there were some who compete for national teams on the World Cup stage in the event.
The mogul skiers loved the course, including Kober, who earned solid results over the weekend as he made finals for moguls and was sixth in dual moguls.
“It’s really nice. It’s a whole different feeling being in the start gate at home,” said Kober. “Way more relaxed.”
U.S. coach Caleb Martin said Kristi’s Run at Apex was in excellent shape. “It’s a great venue. Conditions are as good as it gets,” said Martin. Schwinghamer placed 10th in single moguls and was in the eight final for duals, placing 10th.
