Mustangs senior girls basketball team earns win over Summerland

The Princess Margaret Mustangs senior girls basketball team earned a 62-31 victory over the Summerland Rockets on Wednesday.

The Mustangs were led offensively by Caitlyn Neary, who collected 14 points, while Reiley Terbasket and Shinaaz Johal, chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively. Junior team call-up Vanessa Edis, had a strong performance with nine points.  Coach Dave Killick said that Steph Gomes-Ortiz was very active at the front of the zone and created a number of turnovers to go with five points. On Jan. 19, the Mustangs defeated the Kelowna Secondary School B-team 54-39 in an exhibition match. Terbasket scored 18 points. The next action for the Mustangs comes this weekend when they compete in the Summerland Classic.
