The senior girls defeated the Summerland Rockets 3-0 on the road on May 5 to improve to three wins and no losses. Mustangs coach John Buckley has seen continued improvement in play and strong work ethic from his players.

"It is a good feeling to see the program consistently achieve at a high level," said Buckley. "The program strides to develop players and has benefitted from a tradition of success that inspires the next year's team to achieve similar results."

The Mustangs were led by Jasper Pankratz, who scored two goals. One tally came from a header, while the other was on a shot that found the top left corner from a distance. Bleranda Vrenzi scored the third goal on what Buckley described as a "strong individual run and left foot strike."

Megan McCafferty had a strong game for the Mustangs. She capped her performance by filling in for injured keeper Shelby Rogers in the second half.

Vanessa Edis anchored the back line with great defending from Emma Roos, Brooklyn Cook, Isabella Biggs and Lexi Grady to secure the shutout.

Buckley has liked that his team has been a confident group building skills and the team plays with a focus on possession, passing and hard work ethic with and without the ball.
