Since Hunter Visser got Penticton’s first medal, a bronze in the freestyle skiing halfpipe, more medals will be coming back to the Peach City when the Canada Winter Games in Halifax, NS, conclude Feb. 27.
Andi Naude has earned two gold medals in moguls and dual moguls. Connor Spence just missed a medal in moguls by a narrow margin as he scored 23.070, while Calgary’s Luke Ulsifer scored 23.110. In hockey, Matt Needham and Team BC will faceoff against Quebec for a chance to play for gold against Alberta, which already defeated Ontario 5-3. Needham has a goal and five points, while his OHA teammate Curtis Lazar of Vernon lead’s his team and the tournament in scoring with nine goals and 14 points.
