Penticton set to host Aboriginal softball camp

Aboriginal softball camp being held in Penticton to identify talent for North American Indigenous Games

The Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council (Partners Council) of B.C. has announced a provincial softball camp.

The camp in four locations, including Penticton, is for male and female Aboriginal players born between 1998-2003 to participate. The camp is sanctioned by Softball B.C., supported by the province and serves as athlete identification events to form Team B.C. for the Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games July 16 to 23.

To be eligible, players must be B.C. residents, First Nations, Aboriginal, Métis, Inuit athletes. Proof of ancestry required (declaration of ancestry option available for those who do not possess status/Métis card).  The camp in Penticton on Aug. 13 will be at a field to be confirmed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
