Penticton Vees captain Fin Williams received an early Christmas present on Tuesday (Dec. 21) from the BCHL.

The team’s forward was named as the league’s second star of the week after recording five points over the course of two games.

Williams exploded for four points on Friday night against the Vernon Vipers, leading the Vees to a 6-0 victory at home. The team’s captain and 2022 all-star representative then followed that up by scoring in West Kelowna the next night against the Warriors.

The 18-year old is currently fifth in BCHL scoring for the 2021-2022 season with 12 goals and 35 points.

Along with being named as the league’s second star of the week, the forward is set to represent Penticton by suiting up for the Interior Conference at the BCHL’s 60th-anniversary all-star game on Jan. 15.

The league’s historic all-star game will be played outdoors in downtown Penticton at 107 Martin Street.

Williams got on the board in the Vees’ final game before the Christmas break against the Warriors. The team is slated to hit the ice again on Dec. 28 when they return back to where they left off — Royal LePage Place in West Kelowna.

Penticton (20-3-0-1) dropped its second game in their last four against the Warriors (15-9-0-0) on Saturday, losing 5-2 to wrap up its pre-holiday schedule.
