The Penticton Vees will say goodbye to the 2021-2022 regular season this weekend at the South Okanagan Events Centre and look ahead to the B.C. Hockey League playoffs.

A pair of home games on Friday and Sunday, respectively, will wrap up the Vees’ schedule.

Fred Harbinson’s squad will welcome the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday (March 25) and Merritt Centennials on Sunday (March 27) as a prelude to the start of its first-round playoff series against the Trail Smoke Eaters on March 31.

It’s not just about what happens on the ice this weekend, however.

Off the ice, it’s Feed The Valley Night at the SOEC on Friday. Fans are encouraged to bring non-perishable items to the game in support of Valley First’s annual food drive, with donations set to go to Penticton’s Salvation Army.

People who bring non-perishable items will be entered into a draw to win a signed Vees jersey. Raffle tickets will also be available for purchase at the game for a chance to win two tickets to Alice Cooper’s show at the SOEC on April 15.

Sunday’s regular-season finale, meanwhile, marks the team’s annual awards night.

Those in attendance are invited to stay in their seats after the conclusion of the game to take in all of the post-season festivities.

Tickets for both games can be purchased at valleyfirstix.com or in person at the arena’s box office.
