Penticton Vees Disqualified from Savage Cup

Following a 9-0 loss to the Prince George Mohawks in the Mustang Rentals Savage Cup, the B.C. championship, the senior men’s team has been eliminated from the tournament.

Following a 9-0 loss to the Prince George Mohawks in the Mustang Rentals Savage Cup, the B.C. championship, the senior men’s team has been eliminated from the tournament.

The Savage Cup is taking place in Fort St. John from March 15 to 19 and the Vees’ match against Fort St. John was cancelled as the Vees were disqualified for having an ineligible player, as reported by the Allan Cup website. Information provided on the website states that the coach and player has been suspended and could face a three year suspension. The Savage Cup is awarded to British Columbia’s senior ice hockey champions each year. This trophy was first presented in 1912-13.
