The Penticton Vees will honour veterans and active members of the Canadian Armed Forced when the Vernon Vipers come to the South Okanagan Events Centre on Friday, Nov. 11.

Veterans Night returns to the venue on Remembrance Day and will include the 788 Dragoon Royal Canadian Army Cadets Corps and the 259 Panther Royal Canadian Air Cadets Squadron Marching on the Flags during a pre-game ceremony ahead of puck drop.

Cadets will be handing out poppies by donation on the concourse during the Vees’ game.

Admission is free for veterans, along with active service members of the Canadian Armed Forces. Family members of veterans and active service members will be given a special ticket offer of $10.

Local youth aged 19 and younger get in for free.

The Vees haven’t played at home on Nov. 11 since 2016, with their most recent game at SOEC on Remembrance Day also against the Vipers.

This year, the team will aim on extending its win streak to 17 games in a row.

Fred Harbinson’s squad has already set a franchise record for consecutive wins to start a season.
