Kaeden Lane’s regular-season career in the B.C. Hockey League may be over but that’s not stopping the accolades from coming his way.

The Penticton Vees goaltender was named as a first-team all-star on Wednesday, April 13, after posting a 2.07 goals-against average and .910 save percentage in 34 games played during the 2021-2022 regular season.

After spending the last two years in the South Okanagan, Lane will head east and begin his collegiate career at the University of Northern Michigan starting this fall.

The netminder finished his BCHL regular-season career with 11 shutouts, the second-most in league history.

Lane wasn’t the only Vees player to be honoured by the league, however.

Forward Josh Nadeau and rookie defenseman Ryan Hopkins were named to all-star teams of their own.

Nadeau was recognized as a second-team all-star, while Hopkins was named to the BCHL’s all-rookie team.

The former became the first Penticton player to score 40 goals in a season since the 2015-2016 campaign, finishing second on the team’s scoring list in the process.

All three aforementioned players will be present when the Vees begin their second-round playoff series against the Prince George Spruce Kings on Thursday, April 14.

After defeating the Trail Smoke Eaters in five games, Penticton will look to keep the winning ways going when Game No. 1 of the Interior Conference Semifinals kicks off at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

People can purchase tickets for the series’ first game at valleyfirsttix.com or in person at the venue’s box office.

Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
