PROVINCIAL CHASE — Pen High Laker Tyrah Henderson

The Pen High Lakers girls field hockey team is heading to provincials.

The Lakers earned their berth by defeating the Mt. Boucherie Bears 2-0 in the Okanagan Valley AAA championship, pitting them against the Kelowna Owls.

Provincials will be held in Surrey, Nov. 9 to 11 at Tamanawis Secondary School and the Cloverdale Sports Complex.

“If we qualify, I will focus on improving team fitness and working on skills for artificial turf such as sweeps, reverse sweeps and low tackles,” said Lakers coach Shaun Johnston.
