Registration open for IronWoman charity golf tournament

Charity tournament aims to raise money for South Okanagan Women In Need Society

The IronWoman Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $14,000 since 2014.

Held at Twin Lakes Golf Course, the charity tournament benefitting  the South Okanagan Women In Need Society (SOWINS) is open to ladies of all skill levels with an official Golf Canada handicap.

It is the supreme test of team skills in this 18-hole, four woman Scramble “from the tips.” The tournament is scheduled for July 22 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Participation is limited to 26 teams and it is anticipated that the tournament will be sold out.  For further information on sponsorship/prize donation or joining the tournament, contact Gayle Bukowsky at 250-497-7177 orironwomangolftournament@gmail.com.

Skaha Hills is returning as the major tournament sponsor and there will be 12 businesses committed to hole sponsorships plus a new Hole-In-One sponsor lending their support. Half of all sponsorship dollars received go directly to SOWINS. The tournament is also well supported by many other local businesses offering raffle and door prizes.

“We are happy to partner with SOWINS for this tournament again this year,” said Bukowsky, chair of the 2016 Tournament Committee. “Each year SOWINS helps hundreds of women and children overcome the effects of abuse through a wide range of programs and services. We are glad to assist such a worthy organization.”
