After advancing to the Female midget AAA hockey league championship for the third year in a row, the Thompson Okanagan Rockets lost the best-of-three series, 2-1 to the Fraser Valley Phantom.
The Rockets lost the opening game 2-1 in overtime, then edged the Phantom 4-3. In the deciding game, the Phantoms cruised to a 6-1 win to advance to the 2012 national female midget championship April 6 to 8 in Langley. The Rockets advanced to the championship game by sweeping the Vancouver Fusion in a best-of-three semifinal round.
