‘Spiked Punch’ crowned champions in Penticton’s indoor volleyball league

The 10-player team captured Division C’s title to end the league’s most recent season

Spring is in the air and that means indoor-volleyball season in Penticton has come to an end.

In the South Okanagan Volleyball Association’s recent indoor finals, “Spiked Punch” captured one of Penticton’s three volleyball championship crowns.

The 10-player squad won the title in Division C.

From the gym to the beach, teams across the region will now move on to the warm outdoors following its most recent season.

There are three divisions in SOVA.

Jessy Hansen, Harold Goerzen, Ryan Fraser, Mack Harrison, Clark Burgart, Andrea Hansen, Kristina Moseley, Nat Smith, Miranda Pendergraft, Megan Gieseler and Elaina Deglow can call themselves champions following their contributions to “Spiked Punch.”

Dropping its final game of the indoor season against the aforementioned champs, “Spiked Protein” captured the league’s runner-up honours.

Keith Brander, Joseph Young, Jen Borchert, Connor Eckert, Kelsey Robinson, Arlin Munro, Maryam Garabedian, Jessica Brander, Laura Howlett, James Collings, Vicki Brannan, Maddie Trudeau, Cassandra Nysten made up the second-place roster.

Registration for SOVA’s next season on the beach opens up in April.

Season runs from mid-June to August.
