Steam training camp begins on Friday

The Summerland Steam's season begins Friday as the junior B club holds its training camp

Summerland's Kootenay International Junior Hockey League Club is holding its training camp this weekend.

Summerland Steam is holding its training camp at the Summerland Arena Aug.21-23.

Registration for players is Aug. 21 from 9:30 to 10 a.m. There will be three scrimmage games between teams Red, Black and White. The first game is between Red and Black at 11 a.m. The final game is at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, scrimmages resume with a match between Black and Red at 8 a.m. The next game is at 11 a.m. with the final game at 2 p.m. between Black and White. There will be cuts for the Red team only after the second game on Saturday.

On the final day, Red and White clash at 10:30 a.m. Admission to games is a food bank item.

All games are one hour, 15 minutes with three 20-minute run time periods. Teams do not switch ends after periods. The Red and White game will be the only full game situation.
