Under-14 Pinnacles golden in Nelson tournament

Penticton’s under-14 girls Pinnacles won gold in the Nelson’s Terry Walgren Memorial Tournament held May 7 to 8.

Penticton’s under-14 girls Pinnacles won gold in the Nelson’s Terry Walgren Memorial Tournament held May 7 to 8. The Pinnacles faced host Nelson Selects and defeated them 2-0 on goals by Nicole Mann and Jessica Castle. The Pinnacles played a strong game and kept Nelson from generating possession and any solid chances. In goal for the Pinnacles was Natasha Reimer, who collected three shutouts in four games. Offensively, Nicole Mann led the with four goals, Castle three goals and Annie Plant and Tiana West with a goal each.

In the Thompson Okanagan Youth Soccer League, the Pinnacles are tied for top spot with Kelowna United after a 1-1 tie in Kelowna. West scored Penticton’s goal.  The Pinnacles three wins and two ties in league play and have outscored their opponents 14-2.
