Rygus, a three-year junior A veteran, said winning the Fred Page Cup with the Woodstock Slammers and going to the RBC Cup in 2011-12, is his favourite hockey memory. The Mississauga product said what it means to be a Vee to him is being committed to excellence. His biggest hockey achievement is committing to Clarkson University. He cheers for the Dallas Stars and his favourite players is Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Jack Johnson. His favourite movie is 42. His favourite moment in minor hockey was his final season of AAA and advancing to the Telus Cup.
