Three Vees added to Canada West roster

Three more Penticton Vees will be playing in the 2011 World Junior A Challenge

Three more Penticton Vees will be playing in the 2011 World Junior A Challenge. It was announced this morning that Vees forwards Travis St. Denis, Curtis Loik and defenceman Troy Stecher have earned spots on the Canada West roster. This is the second straight year that the Vees will have three players on Canada West’s roster. Last year Mark MacMillan, Brendan O’Donnell and Joey Laleggia suited up. St. Denis, Loik and Stecher join Mario Lucia and Mike Reilly who will play for Team USA. The tournament is in its sixth year and will be hosted at the Langley Events Centre from Nov. 7th to 13. Team Canada West finished fourth last year and hasn’t won gold since 2007 when the tournament was held in Trail. For more Vees coverage, including comments from the Vees on the Canadian trio, check Friday’s issue of the Penticton Western News.
