Three games into their 2012-13 BCHL campaign, the Penticton Vees are undefeated and alone atop the Interior Division standings.

The Vees (3-0-0-0) picked up two points Friday night in a 4-3 double-overtime win over the host West Kelowna Warriors (2-0-0-1).

Penticton is now tied with Coquitlam atop the BCHL standings heading into tonight’s game in Prince George against the Spruce Kings (2-0-01).

At West Kelowna, the Vees trailed 2-1 after 40 minutes on a goal from Ryan Gropp. In the third period, Wade Murphy and Michael Rebry tallied for Penticton to send the contest to overtime. James De Haas potted the winner just 3:30 into the second, extra five-minute frame.

The Vees scored once on three power-play chances and Chad Katunar turned aside 37 of 40 shots for his third win of the season in net.

After tonight’s tilt in B.C.’s northern capital, the Vees visit Salmon Arm and West Kelowna next weekend, before their home opener Sept. 29 at the SOEC against the Powell River Kings.
