We are on day five of the Hwy. 97 closure following a rock slide north of Summerland.

While crews work to stabilize the slide area, traffic has been forced to divert to alternate routes and tack on hours to their commute. Workers were hopeful the highway would be able to reopen the afternoon of Feb. 6 but another crack in the hillside has delayed the project further.
