The YES Project got a boost from a community fundraiser barbecue put on by Penticton Boyd Autobody and Glass and sponsored by the Penticton IGA.

The charity barbecue held at the Pentown Throwday BMX and skateboard competition at the Peach Festival raised $2,200 this year.

“We’re very happy. It’s the most we’ve raised so far and it’s the second year doing it for the YES Project,” said Ryan Wuthe, Penticton store manager for Boyd Autobody Glass.

“I have young kids in the community, so it’s really close to home to help kids in this community.”

The money will go towards the fundraising campaign for the YES project youth centre.
