Coding kids in Kelowna caught in the wrestling ring for annual robot competition

Students from 17 different schools participated

Central Okanagan Public School students hit the ring May 25 for the annual SumoBot wrestling challenge.

More than 180 students from 17 local schools gathered at the Board of Education Learning Centre in Kelowna to push, knock, and flip their opponents robot out of the circle.

Since January, students who opted into the program have been learning about computers and coding while building the best bot possible from Lego.
