Crazy Cats & Curiosity: A clay cat gallery in Penticton

Bobi McMillan has worked on over 100 cat sculptures, on show at the Leir House Cultural Centre

They are cute, they are cuddly, and what better way to immortalize your cat than to turn them into a clay sculpture.

Bobi McMillan is a local artist who is putting on a Crazy Cats & Curiosity exhibition at the Leir House Cultural Centre from Aug. 21 to Sept. 12.

McMillan was introduced to pottery six years ago and has since been “inspired to create a harmony of beauty and humour with comical cats that produce emotion and a chuckle.”

“Art is a form of healing and recovery and provides solace and therapy during times of stress,” McMillan said.

The exhibition features over 100 clay cats and kittens of many different shapes, sizes and colours.

McMillan will be holding a surprise giveaway each day the gallery is open, with no purchase or entry required. Simply show up to the exhibit and you could be lucky enough to walk away with a prize.

The gallery is open to the public from Thursday to Sunday until Sept. 12, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
