Eggs parachuting off roof of Summerland elementary school

Trout Creek Grade 4s and 5s participated in the annual egg launch

There was plenty of oohs, aahs and cheers as eggs came parachuting down from the roof of Trout Creek Elementary in Summerland on Thursday, April 14.

The elementary school hosted its annual egg drop event. Grade 4 and 5 students were tasked with designing and building contraptions that will hold an egg that can withstand a tall drop from the roof of the school landing on the cement below.

Grade 5 teacher Brian Hutcheson got the pleasure of throwing the egg contraptions off the roof while the whole school watched from below.

There was plenty of creativity too from balloons and teddy bears to parachutes and even eggs inside peanut butter containers.

The majority of the eggs survived their fall and fun was had by all.
