Snow has always been a priceless commodity for Sherry Danahy and Rob Currie, who may very well be the best snowman builders in Penticton.
Towering at over seven feet tall from his roly-poly bottom to the top of his hat, Frosty has come alive in front of the couples 1099 Holden Rd. house.
“We build one almost every snowfall. We just moved here from Squamish so this is our first one in Penticton. People would bring their whole family and come take pictures to use on their Christmas cards for the next year,” said Danahy of their previous snowman creations in Squamish. “This one is probably the biggest.”
The build took about seven hours to gather all the snow together and about an hour for Danahy to carve it.
“This one might last longer than a day because most of ours would get rained out on the coast,” said Danahy.
Always a pair to get into the spirit of any holiday, Halloween also includes an elaborate set up, the couple invites people to visit the snowman, take photos and enjoy their Frosty the Snowman as much as they do.
“That is what Christmas is all about,” said Danahy.
