The most wonderful time of the year has returned and the City of Penticton’s recreation department wants to celebrate by offering free daily fitness between Dec. 1 and 12.

The 12 Days of Fitness campaign will include activities at the Penticton Community Centre and McLaren Arena.

“This campaign is our way of bringing some holiday cheer and giving the community an opportunity to experience a variety of activities that we offer,” says recreation coordinator Joshua Bibbs.

“Whether you’re a regular user of our facilities, or you’re a first-timer looking for new recreation options, we welcome you to have fun and try something new.”

Offers include yoga, lane swims, drop-in sports, group fitness classes, holiday themed workouts and more. Registration is recommended by not required. A full list of event details is available at penticton.ca/12days

Get active this season and check out new recreation opportunities including classes and facility offerings with the launch of Recreation Penticton’s Winter 2022-2023 Recreation Guide. Registration opens Wednesday, Dec. 7.

The winter schedule features a variety of programs including aquatics, fitness classes, skating, drop-in sports, children’s class and adult recreation.

“Remember that swimming lessons will look different in this edition of the Guide,” says Recreation Business Supervisor, Cheryl Wiebe. “With Red Cross transitioning swimming lessons to Lifesaving Society of BC, swim levels will have different names, but we will still provide high quality and effective swim lessons under the new program.”

To help determine which level your child should enroll in, an equivalency chart is available at penticton.ca/aquatics
