Last year the Canadian Red Cross provided 2,429 pieces of medical equipment to clients in Penticton free of charge.
It is a service that not everyone knows of and the Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program hopes to change that. On March 8, from 2 to 5:30 p.m., the Canadian Red Cross is hosting an open house at its Health Equipment Loan Program depot at 216 Hastings Ave.
The focus of this service is to provide individuals with medical equipment that allows them to recover from illness or injury in the comfort of their own home. Tours will be given during the open house of the HELP depot to educate people on the programs and services of the Canadian Red Cross. Information will also be given out about how to join the Canadian Red Cross as a volunteer.
