The Parkway Elementary School grounds were a sea of orange recently during the annual Parkway Marathon.
Nearly 300 students along with some staff, took part in the event which generated over $3,000 from the 15 community sponsors.
Last week the staff and students did the final lap of their 42-kilometre marathon which began six weeks earlier with participants running one kilometre a day.
The money was used to buy technical athletic shirts for the staff and students to wear on the final lap.
The marathon was organized by staff member Susie Haverkamp with help from staff and parent volunteers.
The sponsors included Peach City Runners that provided sound and race chute finish line and Booster Juice that gave drinks to the runners.
