Tonight is the big night for the Okanagan Similkameen Neurological Society (OSNS) and their yearly Share a Smile Telethon.
The 41st annual Share a Smile Telethon and Online Auction will take place at the OSNS’s child and youth development centre tonight beginning at 4 p.m.
The event will be broadcast from the OSNS building on Shaw Cable 11 and live-streamed on their website.

All proceeds go support the development of children in the South Okanagan. The OSNS’s mission is to “maximize the developmental growth, emotional health, and creative capacity of children and youth in the South Okanagan Similkameen through early intervention and family centred care.”
Programs include treatment services for children with developmental challenges as well as programs that help typically developing children.
Services the OSNS provides include specialized clinicians in the areas of speech and language, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, psychology, social work, behaviour and family support. Whether children need help with routines such as eating and dressing, communication, or with movement or getting along with others, the OSNS will provide support.
OSNS programs also include an evidenced-based autism intervention program.
An online auction featuring a wide array of goods donated by local businesses is also now open, to participate follow the auction link on osns.org. All proceeds from the auction will support the OSNS.
Some of the more notable items up for auction include a Space Shuttle and Satellite Laser donated by Sirius Science and Nature, gift cards for various local businesses including Canadian Tire and Rona, a child’s Norco bike and consultation with Inside Out Kitchens valued at $1000. The auction deadline is Sunday (Nov. 22) at 7 p.m.
