Have you ever wanted to step on the ice with some hometown hockey heroes? Then join the Penticton Vees for a skate this week at McClaren Arena.
The team is hosting a holiday-themed public skate this Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m.
The community is invited to skate with all members of the undefeated Vees on the ice, with the exception of one injured player. All regular public skating fees apply.
According to the team’s communications director Fraser Rodgers, players and fans are expected to be playing “stick n’ puck” at one end of the ice.
Members of the public are welcome to ask for autographs and to take photos with the players, he added.
After skating with the community at McClaren Arena, the Vees will travel south of the border to battle the Wenatchee Wild on Friday night, Dec. 9.
The B.C. Hockey League’s first-place squad returns home to the South Okanagan Events Centre on Dec. 16 for a rematch with the Wild, after a pair of scheduled road games against the Cranbrook Bucks and Merritt Centennials on Dec. 10 and 14, respectively.
