Summerland Rotary Sunday Market to continue to Sept. 15

Vendors had asked for longer operating season

The Summerland Rotary Sunday Market will continue a little longer this fall.

The annual market has been held Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning June 9.

Initially the plan was to have the market concluding on Sunday, Sept. 1, but vendors had asked for a longer season. As a result, the markets will run for two more weeks, concluding on Sept. 15.

Paul Barber of the Summerland Rotary Club said the Sunday markets had initially concluded in September after Labour Day.

“There’s been a lot of interest from the vendors,” said Paul Barber of the Summerland Rotary Club.

He added that initially, the markets would run until some time in mid to late September, but for the last two years, the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend was the last day of the event.

For next year, the Summerland Rotary Club will re-evaluate the dates of the market.
