VIDEO: Fantasy comes to life at Kelowna Fan Experience

The event was held at various downtown locations from March 22-24

Kelowna was all things sci-fi, magic, superheroes, anime, films, comics, fantasy, and gaming as the 11th Kelowna Fan Experience was hosted downtown.

From March 22-24, events were held at the Innovation Centre, the Black Box Theatre, and Okanagan Regional Library Downtown.

Cosplayer Ahsley Johnson, also known as Ethereal Ashie, has been involved every year of KFX and loves being part of the con-munity.

“I like to think the cosplay community that we’ve made in Kelowna is extremely judgement free and all of us are super ready to help baby cosplayers.”

Johnson’s advice for those just getting started in cosplay is to not be afraid to ask for help. She noted there’s lots of places online to learn new techniques and get fresh ideas.

The KFX weekend was packed with everything from cosplay contests and voice acting workshops to fencing demonstrations and karaoke.
