Organizers of the local Terry Fox Run are issuing a call for volunteers looking ahead to Penticton’s next big race as Ironman festivities wind down.
Penticton run organizer Kathrine Lucier said there were a variety of ways people could help out with this year’s cancer fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 18.
There are approximately 50 posters and pledge sheets to be placed at local businesses, which she hoped would be snapped up by this weekend. A table will be set up at Cherry Lane Shopping Centre for volunteers to sign up.
Volunteers will be needed for the day of the race for set up, registrations, turn around stations, water delivery and others. A few people with vehicles will also be required the day before to set up road signs on the run route, as well as a possible barbecue fundraiser on Saturday.
