No luck for Magic of Ireland in Okanagan

The Magic of Ireland, scheduled to perform tonight at Oliver’s Frank Venables Auditorium at SOSS has been cancelled.

It seems that Spring 2011 wasn’t the time to be travelling across the country for the troupe of Irish dancers, musicians and actors, all working together to bring an evening full of the Irish energy and entertainment across the country.

According to producer Peter Jacobs, they had to deal with a house-fire taking place during a performance, leaving them without personal belongings. The Red Cross in Oshawa  helped them out and they were able to continue the tour.

It seems this wasn’t enough for them to have to deal with.   Twice they found themselves trapped in huge snowstorms, their touring bus encountered problems as well and there were other obstacles.

On Friday morning, coincidentally April Fool’s, it seemed best to terminate the tour and cancel upcoming performances.    Noone can imagine how devastating this can be for all concerned.

Once this all fades in their memories, surely things will come together and the Magic of Ireland will return to Western Canada.  It is disappointing for all concerned.

Anyone who has purchased tickets is asked to return them for refund.
