The Cawston Players are getting ready for their spring play and they’re holding an open casting call to find people to fill out the roles and the backstage crew. This spring’s production is Dry Streak, by Saskatchewan playwright Leeanne Minogue, a story about a young woman who has travelled the world but ends up moving with her boyfriend to work on a Saskatchewan farm operated by his parents. After months of unrelenting heat, dust, and the endless complaints, she makes a very public promise; If only the drought will break, she’ll run naked through the streets of the town.

Auditions happen tonight and Saturday morning at The Cawston Community Church, 2146 Main St., Cawston. There are seven parts for four men and three women of various ages. Also needed to fill out the team are stage manager, lighting and sound, set construction, publicity, make-up and costumes.
