Many Hats Theatre has announced the lineup for their fifth season as well as open auditions for the five plays in 2012.

The auditions will take place on Oct. 13, starting at 7 p.m. at the Cannery Stage. The directors for all five plays will be present and actors of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to attend, bringing a resume of acting experience and a recent headshot.

Prospective actors should have a prepared monologue and be prepared for a cold read.

The first play for 2012, running from Feb. 2 to 25, is Neil Simon’s comedy Lost in Yonkers, set in New York in 1942.

On April 12, Mary Jane Cruise’s Separate Beds opens, featuring two couples navigating through their relationships  on a Caribbean cruise.

Separate Beds runs until May 5, and is followed by Spreading It Around, another Canadian comedy, by playwright Londo D’Arrigo and opening on July 5. The play follows Angela Drayton, a wealthy widow, who has her own plans for her money.

Skin Flick, by Norm Foster,  runs Sept. 6 to 29. It revolves around an unemployed couple who decide to try their hand at making adult films.

Becky’s New Car, by Steven Dietz, is the final play for 2012, opening on Nov. 8. Becky is married and living a perfectly ordinary life, but she wants more. When an unexpected offer for just that falls into her lap, she embarks on a comic and poignant joyride.
