Ringo Starr is heading to Penticton.

The former Beatle and soon to be two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee will perform at the South Okanagan Events Centre on Oct. 10, the seventh stop on his 22-date North American tour.

The fall tour will feature Starr’s latest album Postcards from Paradise which will be released March 31.

The album will feature performances from Joe Walsh, Dave Stewart, Richard Marx and Peter Frampton with contributions Benmont Tench, Ann Marie Simpson, Amy Keys, Nathan East and Glen Ballard.

Starr is releasing a photo book, aptly titled Photograph after his  1973 No. 1 single of the same name, on Sept. 21.

In Photograph, Ringo Starr reveals never-before-seen photographs and mementos from his archives, sharing memories of his childhood, The Beatles and beyond. Ringo’s lens captures his Beatles bandmates in pensive and playful moments, portraying them from the point of view of an insider, friend and skilled photographer. In an original manuscript of over 15,000 words, join Ringo growing up amidst the excitement of the emerging Merseybeat scene, as he remembers his first car, drum-kits, girls and bands on his ‘road of happy drumming’. From Pwllheli to Delhi, obscurity to superstardom, his travels are recounted with honesty and hilarity.

That same honesty and hilarity continues on the road now with the All-Starrs, with whom he has forged a bond that is evident in every show they play. Ringo’s playful spirit also comes across through his Twitter, where he shares his candid and of the moment photographs and trademark humour.

“I love pictures put together, showing different times of your life, “Ringo said about the book, “At the time, I never thought that there would be a whole book of my photographs.”

Starr will be joined on tour by his All-Starr band which includes the original lead singer of Journey and Santana Gregg Rolie, Toto’s Steve Lukather, Todd Rundgren, Richard Page, Warren Ham and drummer Greg Bissonette.

Starr has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a Beatle, but he will once again take to the podium as a solo artist on April 18 in Cleveland Ohio.

Postcards from Paradise contains 11 original songs and is the first album in Starr’s solo career to feature a song written and recorded by his All-Starr Band.
